During the week of January 22-28, 2024, the ZARATHUSTRA team hosted Dr. Luis Chacón, Senior Scientist, at the Theoretical Division of Los Álamos National Laboratory (LANL).

This visit deepens and extends the ongoing collaboration with Luis on time-implicit, energy-conserving particle-in-cell codes for electric propulsion applications, a disruptive algorithm with multiple advantages over predomining time-explicit codes. This collaboration initiated during Pedro’s research internship at LANL during the summer of 2022, which led to the submission of a joint publication to the Journal of Computational Physics, currently under review.
