Pedro Jimenez collaborates with Los Alamos National Laboratory for a research stay

Our PhD student, Pedro Jimenez, has recently completed a research visit to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in New Mexico, USA. Under the supervision of Luis Chacon and as part of the Applied Mathematics and Plasma Physics group at LANL, he has been working on the development of advanced plasma simulation codes aim to enhance our understanding of the intricate physics behind plasma thrusters and improve their efficiency. These months have been an incredible chance to explore the synergies between fusion power research and electric propulsion, as well as to gain insights from leading experts in plasma simulation and high-performance scientific computing. We are already preparing a journal publication and look forward to continuing our collaboration with Luis and his talented team.
